Marian A. Ash

Marian A. Ash, age 90, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Hospice of Lenawee with her loving family at her side. She was born January 29, 1923 in Sparta, Michigan the daughter of Carl and Sada (Anderson) Johnson. On March 14, 1943 she married Lawrence Ash, the love of her life, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Sparta, MI. Sadly, he preceded her in death in August of 2001.

Marian worked in the office of the Daily Telegram, Ford Motor Company, and the Talon Zipper Company. She was a housewife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family came first and she loved them all dearly, and her many friends. Marian was a member of the Britton Congregational Church for 67 years. She enjoyed baking, golfing, playing cards, and doing for others. Marian was also a 30 year survivor of cancer.

Marian is survived by her son, Larry (Gail) Ash of Tecumseh; grandsons Matthew (Michelle) and Michael (Tracy) Ash; and five great grandchildren Brooklyn, Kendall, Caitlyn, Lauren, and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister and brother in law Marguerite and Marvin Thoreson. At her request, cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home on Friday, May 24 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 25 at the Britton Congregational Church with Rev. James Schenck and Rev. Jack Brown officiating. Visitation will also be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be made to Britton Congregational Church or Hospice of Lenawee.
