Jack W. Karr, age 62 of Lewiston, formerly of Manchester, died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his home in Mio, MI. He was born on August 9, 1947 in Adrian, the son of Robert and Lillian (Conley) Karr. On April 14, 2005, he married Flora Bates in Sebring, FL and she survives.
He was a Union Rep and Plant Chairman at the Ypsilanti Plant of Ford Motor Company for 32 years. He was a member of the Son's of the American Legion, Tecumseh Post #34 and the F.O.E. in Cumins, MI. Jack enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter Angela Atchley of Decatur, AL, two brothers; Gary Karr of Hamilton, AL and Billy Joe Karr of Napoleon, OH, one sister Pam (Steve) Addington of Defiance, OH and two granddaughters; Alexandria Darnell and Jade Atchley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Todd.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, from 5-8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10 at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hawkins of NewSong Community Church officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation on Saturday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
