Obituary For Agnes L. Murphy 10/27/1925 - 07/04/2010

Agnes L. Murphy, age 84, formerly of District Heights, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2010 in the home of her daughter, Mary Kossey in Tecumseh, MI. She was born on October, 27, 1925 in Salem, OR, the daughter of Larond and Ida (Bruck) Hackett. She was united in marriage with Francis "Bud" Murphy on October 2, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2001.
Agnes was a member of Mt. Calvary Catholic Church in Maryland and had attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church when visiting here in Tecumseh, MI. She had been an Avon representative for over 35 years and enjoyed crocheting. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by two sons; Michael (Ritva) Murphy of Faulkner, MD and Mark (Laurie) Murphy of Fairfax, VA, two daughters; Mary (Michael) Kossey of Tecumseh, MI and Kathleen Butcher of Laurel, MD, two sisters; Daisy Goergen and Louella (Mike) Cray both of Lebanon, OR, two sisters-in-law; Betty Hackett of Lebanon, OR and Gladys Hackett of CA, nineteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild, two brothers; David and Vincent Hackett and two sisters; Lavina Thomsen and Charlotte Sullivan. A memorial Mass will take place on August 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Church in Forestville, MD with rite of committal to following Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
