Russell Hugh Miller

Russell Hugh Miller, age 62 of Tecumseh, died peacefully in his home with his family by his side on Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was born on April 20, 1948 in Adrian, the son of the late Russell H. and Imogene M. (Walker) Miller of Clinton where he grew up. He made his home with his loving partner Yvonne Guerra for the past sixteen years and she survives.
Hugh was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserve. He was a heavy equipment operator for 37 years and had worked for E. W. Garlick Co., MacLean Construction Co., and Dan's Excavating. He was a member of the Tecumseh VFW Post# 4187and the Adrian Moose Lodge #1034. One of his greatest passions was flying. He had his pilot's license for over 40 years and had received his instrument rating and commercial flight rating. He enjoyed the time spent with his loving family and friends and will be forever missed by all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to Yvonne, Hugh is survived by his brother, R. Hudson (Judy ) Miller of Sparta, MI, his sister, Sally Jane Wilson of Tecumseh, his niece Connie (Parish) Geers and their children, Preston, Paige, Parker and Payton, his nephews, Robert Miller and David (Angela) VanEtten and their children, David Lee, Alexandria and Joshua.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 7 from 6-8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Lorraine Grinnell officiating. Visitation will also be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Clinton.
